CASE STUDY
The Applied Technology & Trades Complex advances Career Technical Education at COS Tulare Center through a 36,000 SF campus environment designed for applied learning, outdoor instruction, and industry connection. Three new buildings tie into the existing Welding Technology facility, bringing agriculture, livestock, welding, and applied trades programs into a more unified setting. The project expands capacity for technical education while creating a clearer campus identity for programs that rely on movement, equipment access, flexible shops, and hands-on instruction.

Mountain View TK–8 School was developed to serve a rapidly growing area of southwest Bakersfield, where new families created an urgent need for educational facilities that could grow alongside the community.
Designed for students from transitional kindergarten through eighth grade, the campus supports continuity, connection, and long-term enrollment needs while reflecting the Panama-Buena Vista Union School District’s commitment to excellence in education.
INSIGHTS
Over the past several years, California’s Title 24 requirements have increasingly shaped decisions much earlier in the design process than they once did. Energy code compliance is not something teams can address late in design without consequence. Today, it influences infrastructure sizing, budget allocation, system selection, and long-term campus operations from the very beginning.
