Overcrowding was affecting operations at the Kings County Jail. They needed more beds, improvements to the kitchen and laundry facilities, and a new central plant. Our design reduced crowding and helped staff perform their jobs better. The new modular central plant reduced construction costs and has lowered operating and maintenance costs with significant energy savings over traditional central plants. For increased safety, we integrated a smoke-control feature into the fire alarm system.
