The aging Bakersfield College Welcome Center was modernized to provide easy access and wayfinding to important departments students need: admissions, financial aid, counseling, and outreach business services.The existing building’s systems were also updated with sustainability in mind, integrating passive solar, new HVAC systems, occupancy controls and cool roofs. Kern Community College District’s Bakersfield College Welcome Center is a reimagining of an existing building to a welcome center that lives up to its name.
