VISALIA U.S.D. – REDWOOD H.S. GYM, LOCKER ROOM & DANCE STUDIO MODERNIZATION
SIZE: 42,694 SF
Bat-Cave to Bright Lights
Two buildings that house the gymnasium, locker rooms, and dance studio at Redwood High School were woefully outdated. The mechanical system was broken, rendering the spaces unusable during hot days. Falling ceiling treatments, insufficient lockers, a dark ‘cave-like’ ambience, and non-compliant locker room and restrooms plagued both buildings. A comprehensive modernization transformed the buildings into ultramodern spaces. New telescopic and retractable bleachers accommodate 1400 spectators. New durable flooring invigorates the gymnasium and dance studio. Upgraded acoustic ceiling panels reduce noise and provide greater sound clarity for the speaker system. An updated and energy-efficient mechanical system, LED lights, and fixtures create an improved eco-friendly internal environment. And a new white coating on the rooftops reflects heat, lowering energy costs by up to 20%. Now students, athletes, coaches, and spectators can compete, cheer, and perform in comfort in these new and improved spaces.
